Just posted a couple of photos of gold "gossamer" (non-metallic) thread as underwrap with medium green silk & no CP. Although not readily visible the gold on the underwrap was intentionally burnished of gold coloration in spots to bring symmetry in the overall appearance between the anodized aluminium Pac Bay channel reel seat and the gunsmoke frames of the AMTAK guides. Also not clearly visible in the photos (unless you strain) is the thin green trim band of thread ahead of the gold underwrap. Re: New Photos Gold / green on Matrix blank

This, along with a bit of coaching, might get rid of my phobia about green?? Re: New Photos Gold / green on Matrix blank

Ken: What was the source (brand) of that gold thread? Are there other "gossamer" colors? Thx. Re: New Photos Gold / green on Matrix blank

Randy, just think of it like this...Green is the color of money, and more green = more rodbuilding! Regards......Doug@ TCRds Re: New Photos Gold / green on Matrix blank

Doug, personally, I love green! I have green coats, shirts, etc. It's just that I can't seem to coordinate another color with green (other than black, white, gold and/or silver). I have gotten to the point that it is a phobia and if I build a green based rod for someone, I have to use varying shades of green because I'm afraid to do anything else...
