Daiwa Northcoast Spinning Rod

I just picked up one of these rods for $5 as a rebuild project. I don't have any experience with this particular make, does anyone out there remember them? I was thinking of either a combination of garnet and gold trim or red/black classic twist with gold trim. Any other suggestions would be welcome as I plan to do some test wraps first.

This rod is an 8'6" 2-piece rated for 12-30# and 1-2 1/2oz.

Thank you in advance.

Derek

If you offer the color of the blank you might get some feedback on color choices.

Sorry boss....frequent fog and occasional cranial flatulence on my end due to insomnia...Please note time of original posting.

The blank is a rich chesnut brown with just a hint of red, and is in good condition but I have no idea how old it is. I like the weight and balance of the rod....pretty good for a factory product.
