When I use Gudebrod one part rod finish it dries very quickly, but how long do I have to wait before I can use the rod? Re: gudebrod one part finish

I use it all the time. About 4 coats works for me. I wait 2 hours between each coat and at least 24 hours before I use it. It takes a full day or even two to harden up enough before I'll use it. Re: gudebrod one part finish

How does this stuff look? I tried it years ago and hated it. When it dried it had a really odd sort of tan/brawn color to it and the appearance, aside from the color, was just all wrong, it was never really glossly, sort of dul and lifeless looking. Maybe they improved it. Re: gudebrod one part finish

I find the finish to be clear and glossy.
Although I have to apply several coats I like the ease of the one part, and the finish drys quickly and looks good. Re: gudebrod one part finish

Maybe I'll have to try it again sometime. Re: gudebrod one part finish

I've usually got an old bottle or two around that has thickened some, and I use it for the last one or two coats because it will make a slightly higher build than the thin stuff, and I can get the build up I want with less coats. Be sure to use new, thin stuff for the first two coats and filling the tunnels.
