The new Batson RX8+ and RX7+ blanks

I received my Batson blank and component catalogs from Bill and am interested in their new RX8+ and RX7+ series blanks. But I haven't seen them listed on any of the sponsor's website yet. Does anyone know if they are available yet and who has them in stock? Thanks.

try FishSticks4U on the left. if they don't have it, they'll have it drop shipped from Batson. Great people.

You'll most likley have to call a vendor to find out what's in stock. I'm starting a RX7 4wt. Very impressed with the blank color and finish.

Tim I have dealt with Schneiders Rod Shop, Custom Tackle, and Binghams, all very good vendors and sponsors listed on the left margin.

Can't say whether they're in stock or not, but Hook and Hackle has them listed on their site.

I agree with Tim, the Batson's new blank catalog looks awsome but I can not tell who is selling them. I can find sponsors selling Batson blanks, but I can not tell which are the newer RX8 and RX7 for 2005 verse the RX8/7 for 2004 or some even look like they are the original RX8/7 from 2003 & before. Batson has changed blank supplies, manufacturers, importing, private labeling, what ever, etc about 3 time in the last 3 years so I can not tell what is what and what I am buying is the same as I got the last rod I built.

One year I get a great blank I love, I order it next year and get a dog in the same model #. I called Batson & they told me they switched suppliers and some small differences in action/power might be found. Maybe it is just me but I like consistency in a blank and knowing I can get the same thing more than once - price is not everything. And judging by the Batson 2005 blank prices are not that great of a deal anymore. Nick.

I was hoping to see the RX8 blanks in two piece models - and extended beyond fly rod blanks. Ah, well "next year".
