My mother passed away last week and Andy called to offer his condolence. We spent a lot of time talking about getting together this spring and doing some fly fishing in fresh and saltwater. I asked him what all he was hauling to the Big Show and found out he has some fly rod blanks that I wanted. I wound up buying some great blanks at a very good price and some of his fancy burl. I will make three fly rods cheaper than it would cost me to make one at regular retail cost. I bought two top of the line Allstars in the 9 wt. and a 7 wt. and enough fancy burl to make the handles. I have dropped down to only working three days a week so I will have more time to persue my hobbies.
I will also have time to drive to San Antonio and visit with Andy. He is a ball of fire and can really make you feel better when you are feeling sad.
