For my 2nd rod, I am planning on making a spinning rod using a traditional "flippin stick" blank, i.e. 7'6", approx 10-25/30 lb., fast action, etc. I am hoping for a blank in the $50-$100 range. I am interested in the new Matrix blanks, but they stop at 7' (as far as i have found) and i really want the extra 6".
Does anyone have any good suggestions? I have a few in mind, i am just looking for the voice of experience. Thanks for all the help - and the great site! Re: Flippin Stick Blanks

If you really like the Matrix, just extend the blank 6" Do a search on this site for extend blank and you will get plenty of info. It's not difficult to extend a blank

Shikari. Better to have and not need than to need and not have. Re: Flippin Stick Blanks

I'm no expert on flipping sticks, but for some Diawa rods I tried in the late 80's I haven't seen to many blanks I would classify as fast actioned, Mod fast maybe. A blank that matches your specs, but is not a telescoping blank is the Lamiglas GLB091MT. Spencer Re: Flippin Stick Blanks

Try a Rogue FS766 or 767. They're right at $99. They're a nice light blank with great power and sensitivity. Also, the recommendation on Shikari was a good one. Re: Flippin Stick Blanks
