Extended butt for spin rod

Hey everyone, been a while since i posted on here. Anyway I was workin in the fly shop the other day only to find out that my boss nominated me to build a rod for a gentleman who had come into the shop earlier in the week. No problem there. What he wants how ever is a spinning rod (noodle rod) for steelhead. He has already provided the blank. Since I started rod building i have only done fly rods (and one ceterpin rod) and am a little clueless when it comes to the spinning gear. When i finally met up with the gentleman he said he wanted an extended butt grip. Whats the best way for accomplishing this?? I took a guess and the best thing i can come up with is sticking another peice of graphite in the butt end of the rod....... correct or no? Let me know.
Also once i measure the length of the rod ill post again, gonna need some guide size suggestions.

Thanks
Kyle

A noodle rod is graphite and you do not want to use graphite for the extention, use an old fiberglass rod for the extension... I do it all the time..
Epoxy it in.

Why are you extending the blank. From how I understand it the gentleman seema to want a longer handle, that's all. Basically a long, soft spinning rod with a long handle, probably to the elbow. Very similar to the centre-pin setup except for maybe different guides and spacings.
Just make a long handle. It won't matter too much: just a few inches, which don't translate to much "rod reach".
