Found a few folks who really like the adjustable disc weights in the upper-end Bass Pro Shop rods. I believe Fuji markets something like that for us custom rod builders. I've always just epoxied a lead weight into the butt for balance, but then that's not very adjustable is it? Anyone out there have experiences with these disc weights and can recommend or dismiss them for a better method? Does Fuji make them in sizes compatible to larger rods, i.e. heavy casting or jetty? I have built a few noodle/drift type spinning rods and used them. These rods were 11' and the cust wanted a 6 1/2" butt to hold in one hand. I forget just how much weight they have but it is alot. Other than that I don't see any advantage on shorter rods. Re: Adjustable Disc Weights

Rob, we had used that Fuji adjustable cap for 2 years, and had nothing but trouble. in the first place it has about 3/8" holding area inside the cap and is about 1 1/4" long. When you apply enough leverage to the cap it comes off. This problem seemed to be about the same with other commercial rod co's. that were using it.
