i made my sons fiance a light spinning rod for white bass with a blue EVA handle w/yellow accent rings and yellow dots. everything came out perfect except after i mounted the handle to the blank i noticed a "dip" in the front part of the handle where i took too much off sanding while on the lathe/mandrel. is there any way to blend the dip into the handle? it has been finished sanded to 600 and i am afraid any corrective action will make it look ragged since i can't turn it at a high speed again and apply sandpaper. incidentally, i took it to a class i had to go to at work on speaking in front of a group and demonstrated how i made it. i just told em it was custom made that way to fit her hand and they believed the B.S. and were impressed. however i know better and it won't quit bugging me. the handle that is, not the B. Turning on a rod lathe would be an easy way to do it nicely. Without it you'd have to work it all by hand with rougher sandpaper first and then keep working down to finer grades. I think it is possible to do it but it will take a lot of work and time.

Tell her the same @#$%&. I have sanded a small amount by hand then sand the whole grip with the final grit to blend it in.
