I would like to thank Tom for hosting this site. You do a fantastic job and seem to be very knowledgable. I have learned a lot from this site. The builders that frequent this site are eager to help and I even learn things from the people who are just getting started. If they didn't ask the questions I wouldn't be hearing the new ideas. They ask questions sometimes that I haven't even thought about.
Thanks again. I know it takes a lot of hard work and dedication.

It also takes one heck of a lot of money, most of which comes from the sponsors to the left. I hope we all give them first shot when we need a blank, components, tools, etc.

Thanks for the kind words, they are appreciated.

Tom - your point about the money to maintain the site is a good one. I would hope that the sponsors realize how much business the site throws their way. Personally I was looking at Cabela's for my first project 9 months ago. Then I stumbled upon this site and learned so much of what I needed to know that I ended up ordering from a sponsor. Since then I have built 2 more rods and have patronized a total of 4 of the sponsors. Nothing against Cabelas of course.
I also thank you for maintaining this site.
I'm afraid I have the "obsession" everyone talks about now!

I think the sponsors are well aware of the value they get here. Nearly all have made their sponsor fee back many, many times over, but they still had to step forward and ante up to be listed here in the first place. That made and makes it possible for this site to operate, gives the sponsors the best bang for the advertising buck and allows the rod builders to have a place where they can obtain a huge amount of rod building information at no charge. In the end it's a circle that works for everyone.
