I remembering seeing a post (Tom's I think) on installing an eye screw in the cap of Permagloss to pour from to minimize it being exposed to the air. When I removed the cap to drill a pilot hole in it, there was another sort of plug inside the opening that appears to have a spout on it that needs to be punctured which the Permagloss can be poured from.
Do I have an updated bottle version that all I need to do to preserve the Permagloss is to just replace the cap? Re: Installing an eye screw in the cap of Permagloss.

The screw eye goes in the bottom of a small metal paint can, not the Permagloss cap.

Tim, That inner "nipple" is to help draw the finish away from the inside of the cap and the lip of the bottle and back into the remaining finish. BTW, I'm working on my first rod using Perma-Gloss. So far, I have applied 4 coats on each wrap. Only a couple of the wraps fell smooth. I can still detect ripples in the finish caused by the individual thread wraps. I have been storing Permagloss upside down in the refrigerator. This has kept it fresh for months. I see no need to take further measures unless you need a shelf life of many months or years. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
