Sage VPS 896 Guide Info

I am in the process of building up a Sage VPS 896 fly blank. I’m thinking about going with ceramics instead of snakes. I want to go with the Sic Fuji guides, but I am confused with the many different options. Can you mix Fuji concept guides with standard guides? Is there a height difference between them that I have to consider? I worry about the robustness of the single foot fly guides even though I may use them. Would the braced single foot UNSG or the LVSG guides be a better option even if they weigh more? I know this subject probably has been brought up before (I’m new to this forum). Anyway, here’s what I’m tentatively planning to go with. What do you think?

(1) SVSG-16 (Stripper)
(1) SVSG-12
(1) SVSG-10
(1) LSG-8J
(7) LSG-7J
(1) FST-7 Tip Top

The ceramic single foot fly guide takes 25 lbs of pressure to bend or deflect it measurably. Much more presure that your blank can ever take.
I have used them and they are being used by major rod companies in much heavier rods than most fly blanks. Every rod using the Fuji Concept System is using them in the tip section, fly, baitcast, or spin.
You can mix and match the guides any way you need to, even spin guides as the strippers if it pleases you, with no ill effect to performance.
I wouldn't use a stripper larger than a 12 on that blank as I doubt you'll gain any performance and just add weight. I'd also use LSG 6J and FST-6 tip top.

I built two rods last winter on identical Forecast #8 blanks. On one I used a size 16 stripper and on the other I used a 12. I didn't think it would make much difference either, but that larger guide shoots line much easier than the 12. Lefty Kreh recommends big stripping guides. I think his TFO rods use size 20 strippers. The next fly rod will have at least a 16 stripper and I might go as large as 20 (though I'm not a fan of that look).

Do you think I should stick with the SVSG 12 & 10 on the handle piece (it's a two piece rod)?

Lefty is not a rod builder - he's a great fisherman and caster, but I've spoken with him many times and what he doesn't know about rod building will fill an ocean. A #20 ring stripping guide buys you nothing extra but extra weight.
