I need some help guys, I have an older (70's era) 2 piece7'6" fenwick HMG 4 wt that I am going to wrap with single foot alconites. I am wondering what size stripper and guides will I need? I also need a basic setup for the placement if someone happens to have something handy. I am thinking that I will be able to use a 10 for the stripper then an 8 followed by 6's, I am probably way off of this but that is why I am asking for help.
I also have an Orvis 8'6" 3 wt, I will be wrapping this one in the similar fashion as the Fenwick. Again my question is what size guides and spacing. Thanks for the help, Tom Re: guides and spacing for fly rods.

I think your sizes are close. Just use a static spacing test to determine where to put them. Try about 7 or 8 guides plus a top and see how you come out.
