Amtak Matrix Test Wrap Colors

I just posted a photo of two test wraps I've done on an Amtak Matrix fly blank. Any comments or opinions about either one?

Thanks

To be honest I don't care for either. I think with the unique look of that blank I would try metalic gold wraps or maybe use white silk to allow the blanks look to be visible through the wrap. White silk turns transparent after finish is applied with no CP. Used with the right guides I think both of those would make for striking guide wraps.

Of the two, I liked the Sulky with the cranberry in it better. But there's so many different possibilities that a guy might want to play with some more. Maybe peek at some photos with those dreaded green blanks in the photo page, Gerry??
I just have troubles wrapping green; don't know why-to the point of a phobia almost for me...

My fallback for green blanks is always Gudebord Candy Apple Red without CP. The reel seat is one of the Amtak Mother of Pearl jobs with TiCH hardware, so I thought I wanted something different on this one. The multicolor thread is about the size of 00 so it might be a little thin for wrapping the entire guide but I think I will use it for trim wraps anyway, maybe with good old Candy Apple Red.

I actually like the green better. As pretty as those blanks are, I'm not sure I would want the focus to be on the guide wraps, but something to really compliment the blank. I want to do one for myself and was thinking of dark green with some metallic gold trims. Your pic only firms that up!

Then again, chestnut might be nice with a touch of gold. Definitely wouldn't go with the rainbow looking stuff. Putter just likes anything shiny. I think you could have hours of fun with him rolling nickels through a mall.

Opinions are like....... well, you know:)

I'm working on an Amtak Matrix now - medium saltwater spinning rod (model 846). I'm using size A gold underwraps with green over / no color
preserver as a test wrap on the first guide. If I like the look I'll post a photo or two.
