Forhan Locking Wrap Clarification

I want to try this on my next single foot rod and want to make sure I am reading the article in the library correctly. When you do the locking wrap, are you going 360 degrees around the guide and then around the blank, then around the guide again for 360 degrees, then around the blank...for a total of 3 times.
My first impression was that you go 360 degrees aroung the guide 3 times, but after reading it again, I don't think this is the case.
The article doesn't show the other side of the guide, so I want to make sure I wrap it correctly.

Thanks in advance for your help/insight.

Dana; Do the 360 around guide foot then continue around blank then 360 around guide foot do this three times. And go under guide foot when you start the 360 or it won't look smooth. Hope this helps. Ed...

Dana,
You go 360 degrees around the guide then around the blank and then 360 around the guide again and repeat for a total of three times. You dont make three consecutive 360 degree wraps around the guide.
Hope this helps,
Noel

Dana your not the only one I thought that myself at first, but after re reading the text and looking at the pictures I worked it out. After you have done your 1st blocking wrap, you wrap around the blank under the guide leg then bring the thread over the top of the guide leg and back under the guide leg then around the blank X 3 then what ever blocking wraps you want to do. I found it easier to pack up the wraps each time I did one than trying to do it at the end. I think I have it right and the guys will correct me if I wrong, each time I do one they are get easier and when you need to reajust the guide they move freely without the wrap loosening what suprised me.

Dana - I'm glad you asked this question. I have been doing the locking wrap wrong! I too thought you were supposed to do 3 consecutive 360 wraps then 2 or three blocking wraps. My wraps have seemed to look ok and are secure though. But will definitely do it correctly from now on.

I did the same thing Greg, for several rods before I figured out the exact sequence. But, I got to thinking about it, and realized that most variations will do a fine job of securing the wrap.
