Breakaway 1145/2

Picked up my first breakaway blank. I searched but found nothing about the 1145/2. It seems that the stripper guide [40 HH] will sit right on top of the ferrule. Is that ok [never built a 2 piece before]. Also would 5 guides be enough for this rod [spinning configuration]. Thanks for any advice.

I do about everything that I can to place a guide on the ferrule when building a 2 piece.

Gary,

Apologies for hijacking your message, but Putter, I'm wondering why you "do about everything" to get a guide on the ferrule?

I have to wrap the ferrule anyway, so why not?? I deal with one piece or two piece walleye rods. If I can get the guide on the ferrule on those two piece, I do it. If I can't, I don't. But it's very rare when I can't.

If you don't find what you need here (unlikely) you might also post the question on the rod building forum on
www.stripersonline.com I'm building on the same Blank and Found some good Info there.

Good Luck

I've built on that blank myself. I put the first guide just before the ferrule and I'll tell you why. Eveny high quaslity 2-piece blanks will turn a little bit during a day of casting (and the loads that blank can carry will onlyt exagerate that problem. By placing a guide on the first section I think the rod shown a tendancy to turn a bit less. Good luck.
