After 20 some years of doing this stuff, I cannot believe that it could even get worse. How many of you find yourselves taking even more time doing those little things that were just done quickly and easily-even checking it over with the magnifying lens to make sure everything is just so. And then to enjoy it all even more than ever?
There's only one thing better than holding that finished rod and peekin' at it and that's watching the new owner's face as ya get to hand it to them.
I've got doing a simple rod all the way down to about 15 hours, now. Used to take me only 7 or 8...
What a terrible addiction, huh??

I understand that Mr. Kirkman is considering spending some of his obcene excess Rodmaker profits on establishing an old folks retirement home where admission will be limited to former rodbuilders who obsessed themselves into premature senilty. I also understand that your wife has submitted to Mr. K that you be considered for early admission to said facility-Mr. K has reserved suite #1 in your name. I figure another couple of hundred marble jobs should do the trick. We'll send you candy and used books on the holidays.....

Who will be nominated to perform the services of the official "shrink". Be sure he understands the necessity for overdoses of medication other than alcohol, acetone and MEK vapors. The marbleizers will be confined to a separate wing completely isolated from the weavers! I am officially ordering a motorized wheel chair since I do all work presently manually!

NERDs chime in, what's that about? lol.

Actually, I find myself taking less and less time as I realize nobody notices 99% of the things that are "wrong". And even that 1% doesnt' notice everything.

The additinal 7 hours you spend is you sitting there scratchign your head trying to figure out how many different colors you can use Marbelizing.
