Ice rod blanks from fly rod tips?

Can anyone tell me what type of rod tip I could us eto build a medium heavy ice fishing rod. I see a few guys have used tips from other rods.Any idea of what kind of tips I would use? Fly rod? What weight? Spin rods?

A good quality graphite fly rod tip is excellent to build ice fishing rods. We stock some St. Croix fly tip sections that make excellent medium heavy ice rods for lake trout or deep walley fishing and such. We have tips and guide sets that I could help you with choosing also to match up with your reel and line weight.
