I have just purchased a rainshadow ISA1086F and was wondering which single foot guide design is best for spiral wrapping this blank?
Also, can you use the O'Quinn method on a two piece rod or is the standard method with all transition guides on the bottom section the best way to go? I am planning to use the rod primarily for salmon fishing from a boat on the Columbia River in Oregon/Washington, but would like to be able to use it to cast live bait to dorado in Baja this summer. Thanks for your help. Re: spiral wrap questions

Howzit Steve! The answers to your question are YES to single foot guides, and YES to the O'Quinn method. I have used the Fuji Concept guides with the single foot guides on similar blanks with much success in keeping the rod light yet dipursing the load equally over the blank. Re: spiral wrap questions

Two piece or one piece, it won't matter. Set it up using any of the methods for spiral and you'll be happy. I'm very happy with the Forecast single foot fly guides. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
