I'm looking to build a spinning rod with the fuji speed grips and the relative components required to build a short handle, but can't find them anywhere. It's the normal pushthrough uplocking type. It was a black plastic 6" fuji speed(pistol)grip that was capable of being detached from the main rod.
It is a pretty neat setup that I'm having trouble tracking down on the net. Did a google search and it let me down. I know Dick French used to carry them in the old Clemen's catalog. I'd greatly appreciate it if any of the rod builders/suppliers on this site can assist me with this request. Thanks in advance! -Joe Re: fuji speed grips for spinning rod

Nope, checked there and couldn't find it. All they had was the pisto grip trigger handles for casting rods. I'm building a spinning rod. Re: fuji speed grips for spinning rod

I sold all the ones that I had left to Tom K. but I think it was an 11". Frank Novotny got the shorter one...

I have one on an old Lew's speedstick that has been lying around the shop for the last couple years. Obvously used though.
Why not look at American Tackle's "Vetre Matrix Handle"? I know it's not the same, but should do some of the things you like about the old Fuji, with a modern touch. The rear grip will come off, and at least allows you to make sure the blank goes through the reel seat, istead of ending at the ferrule like the speed grip. Just a thought.
