Scotch Brite Alternative

Picked up a three way nail buffer from KMart found in the cosmetics dept. I was there with my wife, not alone. Went home and gave it a try on a blank I was working on and work just fine to get the shine off the blank. I did this in the part where the reel seat was going to be placed.

Hope this helps, for thise that can't locate scotch brite scuff pads.

Fernando

So does Old Dutch Cleanser. All you want to do is create a "water break free" surface it's easy enough to check and see if the product you're using will do that. Just prepare the surface and then drop some water droplets on it and watch what happens. If they bead up or run off, you've got more work to do or need to switch to another product. If the drops spread out, flatten and wet the surface, you're fine.

Fernando,

Those buffers also work the other way too!

You can (almost) remove a scratch and have the shine restored.
