pac bay bamboo burl grips

Has anyone had any experience with Pac bay's bamboo (knotty burl) fly rod grips? They look very nice in the photos and different but am wondering if they are difficult to work with in any way and if they would be durable. Also do they actually look as striking (good) on a rod as they do in the photos.
thanks,
Greg

i'd imagine they would hold up well, as bamboo floors hold up really well in my experience. i haven't worked with the grips however so i can't give you personal experience with em.

If they are like Mudhole's knotty cork they are easy to work with although a bit heavier than cork. I suggest staining with Pecan or cherry Miniwax and covering with 1 coat of urethane.
