Rod Show Door Prizes

The rod builders social gathering at the National Rod Builders' Show will take place on Saturday evening, February 26th, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. It will be held upstairs in the convention center in one of the large seminar rooms.

When you come in, you'll get a ticket - you'll put one half in the hat (or box, whatever) and keep the other half. During the evening we'll be drawing for door prizes.

I've been asked if the tickets will be sold. The answer is no, everyone who attends the social event will get one free of charge. And, there is no charge for admission to the social event. I wanted to take the items that had been donated and give them right back to the rod builders, no fee, no charge, no revenue. (Keep your money and spend it with the many vendors downstairs in the exhibit hall.)

I need to go completely through the list, but for now, we have an American Tackle Power Wrapper from American Tackle, two complete rod building kits from Batson Enterprises and some stuff from Andy at Lamar Reel Seats. I can't remember if he was going to toss in some exotic cork or one of his turning DVD's, but it was one or the other. Then there will be various finishing kits from Trondak U-40 (probably several dozen of these).

We'll end up with about 40 or 50 items in all and if I can, I'll put up a complete list before the show. Some of it has just been promised by the various vendors and I really don't know what it is, yet. But to answer the questions, no you do not have to buy tickets - this isn't going to be a raffle of any kind. Just free door prizes given out at random during the two hour event. Of course, you will have to be present to win.
