The new board forum format has been in place less than 3 weeks now. In that time over 500 individual users have registered. I mention this only for the "whatever it's worth" column.

Currently about 20 to 25 new registered users come on board each day. I know that thousands use this site each day, but frankly I'm shocked that so many have registered.

It's a great place to be, so you might as well register.

And you said registering would slow down site traffic. :)

Actually it has, a bit. But remember, registration at this point is only voluntary. Required registration would definitely knock down traffic greatly.

Keep in mind also, that those 500 or so who have registered, only make up about 7% of the people who regularly access this board.

That's true - That's why I was counting unique IP addresses and not "hits" as many tend to do.

Even trying to email you isn't working. Have to make up a new name and email address.

No problem that I can see. Your log-in name is your own first and last name and if you don't remember what password you chose you can opt to have the system create a new one and mail it to you. Try that.

I was inspired to register based on this note. I have to confess that I've been lurking here anonymously for a few weeks now. I have been thinking about starting to build my own rods and this sure seems like a great place to start. I am still schooling myself up and doing alot of reading around here. I will probably get the guts up to start my first build sometime over the summer.
