Any comments on the new Hook & Hackle IM 7 blanks

Just curious if anyone has built on the new Hook & Hackle IM 7 fly blanks at this point and what they think of them. Priced very reasonable, supposedly 47,000,000 modulus and fast action. Thank you for your input.

Did you see the price for the new Rainshadows? Rx7+'s for $100 an up and Rx8+'s for $200 and up! Yikes! I hope H&H puts em on sale sometime.

On the other hand, they have the new Matrix blanks and they are nicely priced. :-)

I have not built on the IM7 blanks yet. But I can tell you that the IM6 blanks are very good and well weorth the money. Unless you are looking at that specific IM7 blank for the fast action I think the IM6 is the better deal because of the lifetime warranty.

According to the data that I have there is very little difference between IM 6 and IM 7. The modulus of elasticity is about the same but IM7 has slightly higher tensile strength.

I spoke to Bob via e-mail today and he told me thay aren't too different from each other , the 7 is a bit lighter , and a little faster . It also states that the 7 is imported , where the 6 is made here . Hope this helps , I'm going to try one my self when I finish up the couple I building now . John
