Does anyone know of a 2wt that is faster than the Pac Bay Tradition TRF662? I just finished the Pac Bay and it's a nice rod, but would like something a bit faster. Price is a consideration.
Thanks Tom Re: Pac Bay 2 wt.

Tom,
I am currently building Hook and Hackle Company's 662 blank in the matte charcoal IM6. It CC's at ERN = 3.27 and AA = 64. You can look in the CC database and see how that compares to the TRF662. Hopefully, someone has posted the data for it. I have not built that blank. I expect to fish the one I'm building mostly with a 4wt. for close up pocket water dry fly situations. Royal Wulff in the Rhododendron sort of thing. Hope this helps. Steve Re: Pac Bay 2 wt.

As for price, my entire kit to build the H&H 662 cost me $47. They are on sale. What the heck, it will make a good gift for someone if you end up not liking it. Re: Pac Bay 2 wt.

Steve,
Is that sale listed on their site? What all came with the kit, just blank and components? Or is it the one shown that comes with blank, components, glue, thread, bag and tube? Mark Re: Pac Bay 2 wt.

Tom , Steve is right on with the H&H blanks , I have built 4 of them , one of wich I kept for myself .Great price , I like to buy the kit with tube and sock , less glues. Bob will include a set of guides with it , which will be snake guides . I omit the snakes , and buy a set of single foots . You can have a great rod with a tube for well under a C note . Mark,
The kits are listed on their special offers link. The kit I bought included PacBay UL3 seat, reverse half wells grip, set of snake guides, hookkeeper, tip top, and a spool of thread. I did not buy the kit with glues, bag or tube because I didn't need that stuff. Steve Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
