Laying out 8-axis Chevron

I'm ready to kick it up a notch. I'm good at the 4-axis diamond wrap. I want to do an 8-axis chevron. I have Dale Clemens Advanced Rod Building book which describes this wrap pretty well. In doing the first 4-axis chevron, do I start on the 0 axis then the 180, 90, 270? Then, do I start the next 4-axis chevron at 45 degrees right or left of the starting axis? Does N.A.S.A. have any opennings?

Thanks guys, Tim

The initial layout for a 4-axis chevron and 4-axis diamond are the same consisting of four threads (two up and two down) creating crosses at 0, 90, 180, and 270 degrees. An 8-axis wrap will evenly fill in the remaining space (asuming you're not trying to use variable spacing for a closed wrap) on the 45, 135, 225, and 315-degree axes. It doesn't really matter where you start laying out these threads as long as they fill in the spaces correctly.
