Hi All,
with all of this custom rod building has anyone ever tried custom anodizing their own reel seats or reels? If so which kits would you recomend? Thanks Tom Re: Custom Anodizing?

Check out Ron Newman's web page on anodizing aluminum at home. His information is found at: WWW.focuser.com/atm/anodize/anodize99.html.
I haven't done this myself, but was curious enough about it to look for information last week. I was wondering too, about its application to custom rod building, plus I own an old and paint-worn Pflueger reel that I thought I might strip and anodize. However, unless you need to do a lot of anodizing, or a very deep anodizing, it might be better to have it done at a metal shop. Anodizing seems pretty involved, but it is amazing what can be accomplished at home with all the colors, not to mention the durability added by the process. I just haven't figured out if I can make use of this at home. Re: Custom Anodizing?

Jim - I tried the web address I posted above for Ron Newman's page on anodizing and it worked fine for me. Try again or do a search for anodizing aluminum. Re: Custom Anodizing?
