I have a True Temper 1255 fiberglass 8 1/2 foot fly rod. I decided to learn something by rebuilding/modifying it. The blank was painted white. I scaped the paint off down to a skim-milk colored blank. I planned to use Flex Coat to refinish the blank before putting new guides on it. I'd appreciate some advice about using the Flex Coat (how to thin it, and how many coats to use, for example). I assume I can use my low RPM drying motor for the doing the blank refinishing. Thanks ! Do not use Flex Coat, nor any other epoxy wrap finish, to refinish your blank. Epoxies are not made for that. Use a urethane coating for blank refinishing. If you try the archives here on this board with a search on blank refinishing or painting you will uncover dozens of posts on the subject. ............................
