Hi guys; I'm looking for different balance kits that screw onto the end of the handle . I have the ones from Bass Pro but thought I have seen another? Is there more? Want to see how they are made. Got an idea? Got to go lye down after that LOL

The other type I have seen are on Cabela's rods. But through a friend, I have been able to obtain one of the kits that Fuji makes similar to what Bass Pro uses. He has friends in Japan and were able to get me one to try.

Thanks Mike. I found the Cabella's . They all seem to be the same I got two of the bass pro's and will be tearing one apart to see what the bolt looks like. Got an idea of matching the but end for my rods with a colored end ring and use the balance weights.

He's got a system from Fuji - pretty expensive from what I understand, but they look awesome.

There is a wholesaler fuji rodbuilding business i Japan that carries all that neat stuff. Anodized winding checks balancing systems etc. I believe it www.matagi.co.jp tough to read but you should be able to find what you need there.

No biggy! A inside threaded tube, bolt to match, Washer on the bolt for grip, with a nut? to hold the ring in colors I will make, and proper size weights. Just have ta figure if I want the weights to show or recess them into the handle. What to use for the tube and bolt, weight wise?

Bill a trip to Lowes or home depot may be required. Funny i have been thinking about the same things. I hate the way my butcaps have been turning out and was looking to try some different things. I am heading out this weekend to those 2 places to come up with some kind of solution. I was actually thinking like those metal drywall things you put in to hang thing on. The heavy duty ones etc.

Gregg: I was thinking of that myself. Got a home depot near me. Wanted to see if I could find some thing light weight?? Was also looking at the Fighting Butt threaded units? They look a little short?? I have also seem in home depot Nylon Bolts. Don't know if I could get a threaded tube with it? Got to spend some time and look around
Might be better with a good hardware store.

Just looking around and noticed Pac Bay has some nice aluminum threaded butts? And Inserts that go into the handle or seat?

Bill , I have used several of the fly seat incerts for removable butts ,if that's what your refering to . I'm not sure if you have enough room to add a weight to them, though the shaft with the threaded section is quite long . I dont have one here at home , but I have one at the shop. I took a trip tp Home Depot todat and found some what is called connecting bolts and connecting nuts.
The nuts are 3/4 of an inch long and have ribs on them witch should be good for grabing the epoxie well. About 7/16 OD
Fit 1/4" bolts nice and very light. Found them in Specilty nuts and bolts section These should work real nice
