What are the consequences (if any) of using Flex Coat epoxy finish at temperatures that hover around 50 degrees F.? I know the curing is somewhat temperature dependent, but is there a significant drawback in final results if it's used at such cool temperatures?

It'll take longer to dry, that's about it. Just try to do the mixing at warmer temps. Let the bottles sit in some hot tap water for about 15 minutes before mixing.

You'll find the finish very difficult to manage at that low temp. It wlil be like trying to spread bubble gum.

You can always warm them up with a hair dryer.Just don't tell your wife.

I have never attempted to put Flex Coat on guides at 50 degrees but it is going to take a very long time to cure. If you assume that the time it takes to cure will about double for every 10 degrees F that you drop the temerature you are looking at a couple of days to cure to a reasonable hardness at 50 degrees. I doubt that the final result will be any different.

During the warmer months I wrap in my garage since I have a nice 12 foot long table dedicated to wrapping out there. When the daytime temps were in the 80-90's it would often dip down in the 40's and 50's at night. I noticed that my drying times almost doubled. On the flip side, when the daytime temps were too warm, it also seemed to increas my drying time. Now that it's colder than a well diggers you know what outside my wife allowed me to move the operation inside. My drying times are right on the money or even shorter since the humidity and temperature is constant. Now I just have to figure out how I can convince her to let me move a 12 foot table into the basement den!!!!
