I just put on my first application of Color Lock 2. Having used the Guidebrod CLEAR color preserver in the past, I was a little nervous about putting that milk colored color lock on my wraps. I went ahead and did it anyways. I soaked the wraps very well and it's roatating as I'm typing this. Anyone have an experience with this color preserver? Do I need a second coat? Please tell me that it will dry clear! I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Soak the first coat just like you did. Wait at least one hour, put on a second coat just like the first. Wait a good 8-10 hours and you can then apply the finish.

I use it and like it. Just don't get on the blank or it looks milky.

It will dry clear. Like most color preservers, the U-40 Color Lock is a straight acrylic type and is white in color. Gudebrod 811 is a urethane/acrylic and is not white in color. You may use a second coat if you like, although if you have applied a very "wet" coat on the first go around, it isn't likely to be necessary. However, it will not harm anything if you do apply a second coat.
