I have a 4-piece J. Kennedy Fisher fly rod which I made from a blank. Recently, I broke one of the male spigot ferrules. Since Fisher is no longer in business, I contacted both Winston and Scott. They both use spigot ferrules, plus Fisher used to make the blanks for Winston and Scott. Both said that they only do repair work on their own rods. I hate to scrap a fine rod for lack of a ferrule. Are there any rodbuilders out there that repair spigot ferrules? Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ron Appel Re: Repairing Spigot Ferrules

Go to www.tackleworks.org and look in the Washington State directory for Ralph O'Quinn. He wrote the article for Rodmaker in which they showed how to repair spigot ferrules good as new. I believe he has said here earlier that when he has time he is happy to repair these type rods. The directory will have his contact info. That is the only way I know of to get ahold of him. You can also contact Jon King at 800-392-5346. He has been doing repairs on the Fisher spigot ferrules for many years. Bob Batson Rainshadow Rod Blanks Forecast Rod Components Re: Repairing Spigot Ferrules
