Jim,

Did you get an email from a builder in England asking about carp blanks?

No, I had a possible customer asking about them and didn't know where to find any. This person was in the states. I would like to carry some because the lakes around here are full of 20-40lb carp, but you need a very long cast to reach them.

Jim,

What about surf rod blanks? Land locked catfishermen use them.

Hello Jim,
Try Merrick Tackle (link on left), they carry English blanks by a few companies. One, zziplex ltd., list's a few carp blanks both 12'6". They are not real cheap! They are in the new 2002 Merrick catalog. Hope this helps.

We send a lot of the fast action 12' (ISP1445F), 13' (ISP1565F), &14' (ISP1685F), 2 piece into Europe for Carp Fishing.
These same models are starting to be used for Surf Casting with lighter line and lure weights on the east coast.
They were originally designed for Hawaii Surf Casters that were using 20 lb test to though lures at the Omilu and Uluas. The rod blank needed to give an added punch for casting into the wind with 1 to 21/2 oz lures, so that the lure would not flutter and get foul hooked on the line.
