Flex Coat CP on Silk

I just finished wraping Loomis GL3 HS981 in Silk thread. This is the first rod I have done with silk and it looks great, I am getting ready to finish it and was wondering if Flex Coat CP will work on silk? I dont usually like to use CP but I really want to retain the colors that I have on this rod ( Blue with Yellow trim). Will the silk darken considerably like nylon without cp or do I need to use a CP and what would be the best? Thanks

The acrylic type color preserves are not recommended for silk thread. "Al's Wrap Rite" is the best CP I have found for silk.

Tom, Thanks. I just got back from anglers workshop and they told me the same thing. So I picked some up and I am waiting for it to dry right now. Thanks for this great site and the Magazine also.
