Gentlemen,
I was wondering if anybody could recommend an UL spin blank (preferably 1-4lb or 2-6lb, and 6.0-ft to 6.5 ft) in a 3pc travel. I know GLoomis makes a 6'-3" 3pc, but just was wondering if anybody knew of any other options. As always, Thanks. Happy Holidays. -Tony Re: 3pc Travel UL Spin

Don't forget a fly blank can be used as a spinning rod. Maybe a travel fly blank. Would think about a 3 WT Re: 3pc Travel UL Spin

I was going to suggest the same as the previous post. I also built on the AllStar titanium line of travel blanks last year - 7' 8-17lb (Christmas present) and am impressed but I don't think they go as light as you are looking for. Re: 3pc Travel UL Spin

Tony, you might want to look at the St.Croix 2s60lf4, which is a four piece,6 ft blank rated for 4-8 lb test, and1/16 to 5/16 oz lures. I've built on this blank 4 times, for myself and others, and I have to say it's one sweet rod, even though it's a 4 piece that breaks down into 18 inch sections. This rod is the most fun for smallmouth you can have without taking your clothes off. Bob Vasko Re: 3pc Travel UL Spin

Or, with a little homework (back issues of RM), some sacrificeable fibreglass scrap, rod bond, calipers and a Dremel tool, you could take the tools to a one piece and make a 3 pce. I anticipate doing a fair bit of that in times to come. Loads of people still want to be able to make sure at least one rod makes it to your destination when travelling.
