ARRRGH! help with botched inscription

howdy everyone. i need some help. i used a gold metallic ink pen (made by standford i think, two pen pack, gold and silver which i bought from target) to inscribe on a blank. i then "block-coated" just over the inscription, not all around the blank.

wrong name on inscription!!!! it was for my OTHER girlfriend!!!! i'm in deep doodoo.

just kidding.

i marked the weight of the rod incorrectly. i did this last night around 1am. it is now 10am and still tacky. how can i "erase" the flex coat highbuild layer and inscription without damaging the blank's finish? i recall reading posts dealing with similar but cannot find anything in a quick search (rubbing alcohol?). since i'm working right now, i have to jam and cannot conduct a more intensive search. i might be able to disappear in a couple of hours, go home and attempt to fix the problem. any advice MUCH appreciated.

Eric,
You shouldn't have any problem removing it with denatured alcohol.
