New Guide Concept Stripper Size for Daiwa SS-II 2500

Looking for info from anyone who has set up the New Guide Concept for this particular reel. What size stripper guide did you use? I am building a 7' GUSA C703 (spinning), and I bought a size 30 stripper guide based on roughly half the diameter of the spool size for this reel. A 25 is slightly less than the spool's half-size while a 30 is slightly larger. Using the 30, I end up with the guide only 13" above the reel. Going with the 25 stripper, it lands 23" above the reel which seems more normal to me. I am using a TN handle, and my intersect point is 16" from the tip. If I use the size 25 guide, will line slap and/or build-up be a problem? I am using SIC guides. I will test cast, but were a little icy here at the moment.

Thanks in advance for all replies and Happy Holidays,

Glenn Swor

The 25 will be better. 13 inches is too close. 19 to 22 is about perfect, but 23 is not out of line.
