This is about my 5th time in trying to get this post to stay on the board!
There was a recent post that asked for suggestions on ceramic guides for an 8wt Rainshadow blank. One suggestion was to use "high frame 16 & 12, and then 8s or 7s the rest of the way. What exactly is a "High Frame" guide - would that be a single foot spinning guide? I realize they would be lighter but how durable would they be compared to using double foot strippers? Thanks. I use double footed spinning guides such as the SVSG or similar. Very durable and the extra height makes shooting line a bit smoother in my opinion. Reduces line slap on the blank for sure.
You could probably use the same thing in a single footed design (LVSG) if you wanted. They're tougher than people think, but you can certainly bend them if you're rough enough. ....... Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
