Applying second coat of flex coat

I put the first coat on a rod a couple of weeks ago and am going to put the second coat on tonight. Will I run into problems waiting too long between coats.

What you need to do is scuff the new finish with a gray 3M Scotch Brite scuffing pad that you can get at any hard ware store. If you don't scuff the finish the new coat well peal off at a later date

What is the Max. time to wait between coats?
I know as soon as it sets up well enough to be able to apply another coat you can apply the second.My problem is,I work on call and when I go to work I am gone for about two days. I have a rod at home right now that I epoxied day before yesterday.It needs the decales put on and then to put another coat on tomorrow.

I have applied a second coat in as little as 2 hours and as long as a couple of months, on new rods, and I have resecured loose wraps on a couple of cheapo rods, without doing anything different to the previous finish other than cleaning off the mud and dried bait. Scuffing the cured finish is a good idea and should certainly help the new finish adhere.
