Site entry thoughts!

I like the new format. It is easier to read. It'll probably take a while to adjust, but change is always good (I think?).

Just a suggestion, why don't you (the webmaster) change the input fields for posting that include a seperate box for first and last name? And if the boxes are both filled out, the post buttons spits it back out and says something like "hey buddy, you forgot to use you entire name...can't you read?" heheheheh

Just a thought.

Domenic

Fot those who were use to the threaded view....you need to register and then go to "My Control Center" and you can change the view to threaded.

That's a great idea and something we couldn't do with the older software. As I said, it'll take a few days to get rid of what we don't want and add what we do. But we'll be at work on it and hopefully have things where we want them by next week.

The registration feature will be canned in a day or two. We'll put a threaded feature button back on the main page.

But I would prefer that you didn't for now. I need to check and see how much bandwidth it takes up, I have to pay for every "inch." If it's not enough to worry over, then we'll leave it.

I'd rather keep the photos on the photo page if at all possible.

I agree with an earlier post by Ray Mazza that this has a more sterile feel than the older software but maybe that is just because we had become so accustomed to the older version. I can see some improvements with this version and I think that I am going to like it. I am sure that I will like it after Tom is through tweeking it.

Ian and Wendy will work with me on getting rid of things that aren't really helpful and making any improvements easier to find and use. This may take a few days.

The registration and log-in features will definitely be tossed out.

I plan to add some color bars across the topic headings to break them up a bit and make them easier to find and use. The text can also be changed (some of you can even do this within your own browser settings - it can usually render pages in typefaces and sizes that are pleasing to you. I know Safari can do this and would assume other browsers have similar capabilities.

We'll get a threaded/flat view option up as soon as we can, along with a "back to top" buttom or something so you can return to the top of the page quickly.

Tom, if possible, please try to keep the recently added abililty to do searches on <messages> and not just on <author> and <subject>. This added search function really opens up a wealth of keyword based info that is hidden under non-descript subject lines.

Thanks so much to all who contribute to the effort which goes into this site!!! Ladd

We'll keep the new message search feature. Actually, the old board had that too, but it got turned off inadvertently.

Larger or bolder font would be appreciated if possible, but then wait a minute, like the telephone books becoming so much smaller is always good for business, yea now that I look at it again, it looks great. ha

The only thing I see that I dont like is that we dont have "new" by the new post.
I really liked this option,
Noel
