I have read some previous notes on this board about Sulky thread, but still have some questions. I understand it can be used as a underwrap, but. Can you use Sulky Metallic thread for wraps, nothing else, or is it just a thread to use as a trim wrap with regular rod wrapping thread? Thanks Doug Re: Using Sulky Thread ?

Sulky thread does not have the strength of the HT mettalics and shouldn't be used directly for overwraps. You can however do an overwrap in size A white regular thread apply finish, the white thread will disapear ,now you can wrap with the sulky, the guides are held in place with the white A thread and the sulky becomes or acts as trim no strength needed, some beautiful results can be had using it this way.
