What is the thread color that best matches the blank color (plum) on the Pac Bay Tradition fly rod blanks?

Gudebrod Garnet without CP will literally disappear.

Joe,
I just built a bass rod for one of my boys on a Pac Bay Tradition blank. I did a shaded chevron wrap on four axis going from white to candy apple red. The gold guides are wrapped in a white band, white and red spiral, then finished in candy apple red. I used NCP thread. It looks very good. If I used the Garnet, I would add a small gold trim band.
Cheers, Ellis

Joe , I've done quite a number of those , and GL3s , Light brown NCP , Garnet , and Red look good . I also used Colbalt blue with CP and gold inlays/ trim , and the guides stuck out nice , but didn't look too out of place . The blue turnd very dark , and the gold highlights them well. Have fun . John

Gerry Rhodes just had a post on this a bit ago; scroll down and peek through it, too.
