Helllo, I have purchased some peal and stick decals from cabelas. My question is will the square corners or the outline of the square be visible once I epoxy over them or will they be noticed? Second, should I cp over it before hand? any help would be great. ( They are fish decals ) Thanks Bart Re: Decal Question

The sides and corners are quite likely to be somewhat visible. This is one of the downsides to the thicker peel and stick type labels. You may be able to make trim wraps up to or just over the ends. the top and bottom you'll have to live with. I would seal the label with some CP. Otherwise the slick surface of the label may repel your finish when applied. ............... Re: Decal Question

If these are the standard fish decals, I have had no problem placing them directly on the blank and finishing with two coats of low build and the edges are not really able to be seen. Re: Decal Question

Barrt , I take the round edge of my burnishing tool and apply a good amount of pressure to thin out the decal at the edges. I also use a coat of CP for reasons Tom mentioned . Have fun JD Re: Decal Question

I to just recieved some decals with square corners. Usually I get ones with rounded corners. I just did two rods with the square corner decals and they turned out great. As mentioned just make sure you put a good amount of preasure on the decals to seat it on the blank. Dave Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
