u-40 will it stay on

I have refinished a retrolling rod. The rod showed signs of wear after many days in sunshine. I have cleaned, scrubbed with Vim and used ScotchBright on the complete rod and applied U-40 finish to all the rod. It looks good as new but will the U-40 finish stay on? GN Roach Re: u-40 will it stay on

What type U40 did you use? Permagloss seems the product of choice for blank refinishing and should work. If you used the epoxy LS Supreme or Dura Gloss, then I'm not sure how well that stays on. I think it is really intended for the thread wraps. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
