I Reverse the direction fo my drying motor for the first hour of drying time every 5 min. or so . I don't know if it helps level any better , but I get pretty good results when I do it . I don't know if it's OCD or a mind thing . Does any one else practice this ? Or is it just me. Thanks , John Re: Reversing dryer direction

Hello John Assuming everything is reasonably centered and level it should make not difference but having said that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Go for it John. Have fun. Regards Joe Re: Reversing dryer direction

John, I don't think it makes any difference. I use a drying motor and I usually leave the rod alone the finish has cured on the pan. I go by the rule that the more you mess with it, the more likely something will get screwed up Re: Reversing dryer direction

I kinda like the two direction thingamagig - very similar to my mix of manic depressive disorder. I am manic while doing butt wraps and depressive while applying finish - my motor always works best in both directions! Wind Blowing Not Gon Fishn Re: Reversing dryer direction

Well , I did it again this morning when I put the last coat on the flyrod I just finished . Back and forth for an hour ...........I like to watch the rod for the first hour so if there is a real problem , I can contend with it before it's realy set up ( the epoxy )....................OCD it is .
