Any of you guys build/fish with one of these? They sound interesting. So does the Perigree. Re: Lamiglass Ti2000/IM700

I've built a spinning rod on this, have another blank in the shop to build this winter. Very sensitive, moderately/high priced blank. Todd w/Lamiglas recommended only Rod Bond to adhere handle components to the titanium butt. He also recommended a bit of a wrap on the blank just ahead of the titanium butt. I built a 9 wt fly rod for myself and really like it. The titanium sleeve creates a neat background for butt wraps. Re: Lamiglass Ti2000/IM700

Bryan, I think Lamiglas are going to quit producing the fly blanks next year, if it already hasn't happened, but there may be some with one of the sponsors. The Fly Fish America site has some previews, as does the Global Fly Fisher site in their archives. Saltater and 8 wt. travel rods at Fly Fish and a 5 wt, if I remember right, at Global. Built a 7 wt for a person some years ago, he loves it. I only got to test cast it, I thought it cast as fine as any out there. I don't know if they fixed it in later models but the early ones, if I remember right, had a large diameter tube, I got the reelseat for it from Lamiglas to fix that problem. The original 5/6 Perigee had the same problem. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
