Making own decals

I've never had much luck with water slide decals (never really learned how to apply properly I guess, even with model cars). I really prefer the peel and stick kind. Someone recently posted that they were making their own decals with a label maker.

This would be great. I have my own logo already made, but would love to be able to make my rod specific info via peel and stick decal, i.e. "IM7 Graphite 2-8lb", whatever. What label maker is best for on a budget? I don't need to do anything fancy, just simple, gold or silver letters on a clear background.

I can't help you on the peel and stick labels, but am sure you'll get some advice in due order.

Until then, I want to mention that Jimi from Decal Connection will be at the National Rod Builders Show in Charlotte, actually showing how to apply water slide decals. Being able to see it in person is bound to help. If you can make it to the show, that is.

Phil,
Scroll down to the P-Touch label maker thread
But they don't do gold or silver inks. White on clear, black on silver and gold foil, red on white etc.

Didn't know Decal Connection makes the peel and sticks as well. Will have to check into that. I wrap so many different kinds of rods it would be imposttible to get a bunch of generic stickers, have to do each one seperately. Thanks as always.

Am in Tampa, FL. Hoping to make the drive to the rod show if I can get the time off work. Anyone else around here planning on driving? Carpool, anyone?
