Tip-Top not aligned with spine

Hello. I'm new to rod building and am working on my second rod. I spined the rod and glued my tip top on today only to find out later that the tip must have moved and now the tip top is off to the side of the spine of my rod. My question is will this totally ruin the action of my rod? Does anyone have any tips on what I can do? Thanks in advance and thanks to all of you for the tremendous amount of info I have learned by reading this forum. Sincerely, Ryan

Did you try to heat it gently and move it back?

Ryan,
No problem warm / heat the tip top and align it as you'd like. If you used heat melt glue running an alcohol lamp or butane cigarette lighter under it will work. If you used an epoxy glue dipping it in/out of hot water will loosen it enough to allow you to turn it.

I used your guys advice and it worked like a charm. I didn't think it would be that easy. Thanks again, Ryan

It will not affect the action of your rod one way or the other. Check the FAQs page for more information on rod spine.
