I want to flock a cork fly rod grip. I want to mask off some of the grip with masking tape, as the article said, but do I take the masking tape off before flocking or after once the glue is dry? Ron. Re: Flocked grip question

Any masking you do needs to be done before the adhesive is applied. You must keep the adhesive off those areas that you do not want flock to stick to. I guess you could take the tape off as soon as you're done applying the adhesive, but you could just as easily leave it on until the flocking operation is complete and everything is set. In fact, that's the approach I use. Removing the tape any earlier might allow some minor migration of the adhesive. I'd just leave it in place until the next day. ..............
